The solo and ensemble event will take place on Feb. 12-13 at Satellite High School.  

Schedules will be sent out about one week before the event (when we receive them from the district).

COMING UP:  ENSEMBLE RECITAL

All wind player ensembles (not percussion) will perform for each other in a recital on Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 4:15-5:45.  Attendance is required!

Symphonic Band Rehearsal Schedule:  See the SCHEDULE of rehearsals for symphonic band for the rest of Spring semester.  There are some days that we will not have rehearsal due to FCAT or school holidays.  Please note:  there will be no more a.m. rehearsals after March 23 for the rest of the year.

SOLO AND ENSEMBLE FESTIVAL 2010

All students (any band class) who are in private lessons are invited to participate in Solo and Ensemble Festival by performing a solo with piano accompaniment.  Please see below for more information and for a permission slip.  Students in symphonic band are invited to participate by doing solos and/or ensembles (small group) events.  The performance for Solo and Ensemble will be on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 12-13, 2010 at Satellite High School.  See Mrs. Singletary to sign up!

ASSESSMENT FEE FOR 2010 is $6.50 per event

Welcome to our web site!

The Johnson Middle School Band, under the direction of Laura Singletary and Veronica Curran, consists of two beginning bands, Intermediate Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Symphonic Band.  Over 270 students are enrolled in band at Johnson Middle School! 

Mrs. Singletary is beginning her 12th year as the Band Director at Johnson.  She is the Middle School Chairperson for the Brevard All-County Band, and she serves as an assistant director for the Eau Gallie High School Band Program as well.  Mrs. Singletary was honored to be selected as the 2009 Florida Middle School All-State Band Conductor, performing at the Florida Music Educators Association Convention in Tampa (January, 2009.) The Johnson Band is widely recognized as an outstanding band program in central Florida, and the Johnson Music Department is recognized by the Florida Department of Education as a "Music Demonstration School."   We hope you will use this web site as a source for information about the Johnson Band Program.  Click the buttons on the left for more information.
