WELCOME MS. CURRAN!

Veronica Curran is our new Associate Director of Bands at Johnson Middle School and Eau Gallie High School.  She graduated from Florida State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Music Education.  While at FSU, she studied trombone with Dr. John Drew and was a member of the Concert and Symphonic Bands.  Her last semester at FSU, Veronica had the opportunity to be rehearsal assistant to world renowned composer James Curnow during the 2008 Tri-State Festival.  She holds active memberships in the Music Educators National Conference, the Florida Music Educators Association, and the Florida Bandmasters Association.

The Johnson Middle School Band, under the direction of Laura Singletary and David Thornton, consists of two beginning bands, Intermediate Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Symphonic Band. 

Mrs. Singletary is beginning her 9th year as the Director at Johnson.  She serves on the Music Leadership Team for Brevard County Schools and is the Middle School Chairperson for the Brevard All-County Band.   She serves as an assistant director for the Eau Gallie High School Band and is the drill writer for the EGHS Marching Commodores.  The Johnson Band is widely recognized as one of the most outstanding band programs in central Florida, and the Johnson Music Department is recognized by the Florida Department of Education as a "Music Demonstration School."
